Cloud solutions have become an integral and constantly growing part of modern IT infrastructures. However, the complexity of cloud licensing, data protection requirements and IT compliance regulations also brings new challenges. Companies are looking for ways to maintain an overview and control.

We discuss fundamental topics with you, such as

  • In which scenarios which cloud concepts make sense.

  • Where the legal risks lie for companies in their daily use of the cloud

  • Which questions need to be clarified before using cloud solutions in order to maintain control.

  • Which cloud management approaches and interfaces to SAM are essential to ensure compliance requirements.

  • How FinOps and SAM together can reveal potential savings and optimise costs and resources in the cloud.

  • Introduction to the various service (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and delivery models (private, community, public, personal) of cloud computing, their advantages and disadvantages, fields of application and the importance of a cloud strategy.

  • IT compliance in the cloud: basics of compliance with data protection laws (e.g. GDPR), documentation requirements, minimum standards for information security (BSI), challenges in international data transfer, sub-licensing and over-licensing scenarios.

  • Shadow IT and cloud management: Identifying and managing unauthorised cloud services, developing and implementing effective cloud management policies and adapting existing processes to the complexity of multi-cloud environments.

  • Software asset management in the cloud: complexity of SAM in hybrid structures, the various licensing models and their implications, overcoming challenges with BYOL and SaaS, identification of typical clarification requirements.

  • Fundamentals and principles of the FinOps methodology, strategies for cost control and effective resource utilisation, integration of FinOps into the IT strategy, cooperation between SAM and FinOps.

Persons responsible for purchasing software licences or persons responsible for software asset management / software licence management in companies that are considering the use of cloud services or are already using them.

A good technical understanding of common IT technologies and terminology or the IT Knowledge Compact training course is recommended.

If your training course takes place in the virtual classroom, you will receive digital training documents via the Mimeo platform (included in the course price), which can be used online and offline in the Mimeo environment (search/notes, etc.). If you would like printed training documents in addition to the digital documents, you can order these for € 74,-- net via the registration form.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to send printed training materials to Switzerland and other non-EU countries for customs reasons.

All classroom training courses are generally equipped with printed training materials (paper - included in the course price). If you would also like a digital training document via Mimeo, you can order this for € 24 net via the registration form.

For face-to-face courses, refreshments during breaks (drinks, pastries and lunch) are included in the course price.
