This course is aimed at IT service providers who provide their customers with services based on Microsoft software or end customers who utilise SPLA services. The course has been developed to give participants an overview of the Service Provider Licence Agreement (SPLA) programme and product licensing for hosting environments. In addition to Microsoft licensing in hosting scenarios, the focus of this seminar is primarily on the Microsoft SPLA agreement.

Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of Microsoft licensing rights for the provision of IT services, learn how to train their employees and IT staff to follow the Service Provider Use Rights and develop an understanding of compliance.

  • SPLA programme: Structure of the SPLA programme, rights and obligations and relevant contractual documents
  • Hosting scenarios: Structure of the IT infrastructure and the effects on licensing
  • Product licensing: Licensing of Microsoft software for the provision of IT services
  • Qualified Multitenant Hoster Programme: Which licences may be provided as part of the QMTH K80 Amendment?
  • Data centre provider: Provision of IT services from the data centre of a third party

What added value (for you) can you expect?

You have the latest know-how on the licensing of Microsoft products for the provision of IT services. You will gain knowledge of the Microsoft SPLA programme.

This course is aimed at IT administrators, IT managers and IT staff with some experience of Microsoft licensing who are directly or indirectly responsible for the use of Microsoft software in hosted IT environments.

Technical understanding, basic knowledge of licensing law.

If your training course takes place in the virtual classroom, you will receive digital training documents via the Mimeo platform (included in the course price), which can be used online and offline in the Mimeo environment (search/notes, etc.). If you would like printed training documents in addition to the digital documents, you can order these for € 74,-- net via the registration form.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to send printed training materials to Switzerland and other non-EU countries for customs reasons, so we recommend that you bring an internet-enabled device (e.g. laptop or tablet) with you for face-to-face training in Switzerland.

All classroom training courses are generally equipped with printed training materials (paper - included in the course price). If you would like additional digital training material via Mimeo, you can order this for € 24 net via the registration form.

For face-to-face courses, refreshments during breaks (drinks, pastries and lunch) are included in the course price.
