In this course, Azure solution architects learn how to design infrastructure solutions. Course topics include governance, compute, application architecture, storage, data integration, authentication, networking, business continuity and migrations. In this course, lessons are combined with case studies so that basic design principles can be illustrated for architects.

Successful students should have experience and knowledge of IT operations, including networks, virtualisation, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, data platforms and governance. Students will also have experience designing and conceptualising solutions.
Before taking this course, students must have previous experience deploying or managing Azure resources and extensive conceptual knowledge of the following:
  • Azure Active Directory
  • Azure compute technologies such as virtual machines, containers and serverless solutions
  • Azure virtual networks with load balancing modules
  • Azure storage technologies (unstructured and databases)
  • General application design concepts such as messaging and high availability.
Prerequisite Courses (or equivalent knowledge and hands-on experience): This free online training will give you the experience you need to be successful in this course.
This course prepares you for exam AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions. This exam, along with exam AZ-104, is a prerequisite for certification as a Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
