In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of database concepts in a cloud environment, gain basic knowledge of cloud data services, and build foundational knowledge of cloud data services in Microsoft Azure. Participants will identify and describe core data concepts such as relational, non-relational, Big Data and analytics and explore how this technology is implemented in Microsoft Azure. They will explore roles, tasks and responsibilities in the data world. Students will explore relational data offerings, deploy and use relational databases, and query relational data via cloud data solutions using Microsoft Azure. They will explore non-relational data offerings, deploy and use non-relational databases as well as non-relational data stores for Microsoft Azure. Students will learn about the processing options available to create data analytics solutions in Azure. They will explore Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks and Azure HDInsight. Participants will learn what Power BI is, including its building blocks and how they work together.

Participants in this course are individuals who want to learn the basics of database concepts in a cloud environment, gain fundamental knowledge of cloud data services, and build their foundational knowledge of cloud data services in Microsoft Azure.
No further certification is required prior to this course. Successful Azure Data Fundamentals students start with some basic knowledge of computing and internet concepts and an interest in gaining insights from data.
This is especially true in the following cases:
  • Experience of using a web browser, e.g. Microsoft Edge.
  • Familiarity with basic data-related concepts, e.g. working with data tables in a spreadsheet and visualising data using charts.
  • Willingness to learn by doing.
The course price includes:
