This course introduces basic concepts related to artificial intelligence (AI) and the services in Microsoft Azure that can be used to create AI solutions. The course is not intended to teach students to become professional data scientists or software developers, but to increase awareness of common AI workloads and the ability to identify Azure services to support them. The course is designed for blended learning and combines instructor-led training with online materials on the Microsoft Learn platform (https://azure.com/learn). The practical exercises in the course are based on learning modules. Students are encouraged to use the learning content as reference material to reinforce what they are learning in class and to explore topics in more depth.

In this course, participants will acquire the following skills:

The Azure AI Fundamentals course is for anyone who wants to learn more about the types of artificial intelligence (AI) solution possible and the services in Microsoft Azure that can be used to create them. You do not need to have experience with Microsoft Azure to take this course, however, it is assumed that you are familiar with computer technology and the internet. Some of the concepts covered in the course require a basic understanding of mathematics, such as the ability to interpret diagrams. The course involves hands-on activities working with data and executing code. Therefore, knowledge of basic programming principles is helpful.
No further certification is required prior to this course. Successful participants of the Azure AI Fundamentals course will have a basic knowledge of computing and internet concepts and an interest in using Azure AI services.

In particular:
  • Experience with the use of computers and the internet
  • Interest in use cases for AI applications and machine learning models
  • Willingness to learn through practical exercises
This course prepares students for the AI-900: Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals exam.
