Licensing IBM software products on the basis of "SubCapacity" can significantly reduce licence costs. However, "SubCapacity" is also subject to complex documentation requirements, in particular through the IBM Licence Metric Tool (ILMT).


The fact that the ILMT is not easy to manage, even for experienced licence experts, is reflected time and again in high subsequent audit requests in which "Full" instead of "SubCapacity" is invoiced.

This course helps you to master the ILMT with confidence and thus also indirectly reduces unwanted audit risks.
- How exactly is "SubCapacity" calculated?
- What components does the ILMT consist of - and how do they interact?
- What do I need to consider when classifying software?
- How do I create the necessary reports and what exactly do they contain?

These questions (and more) are discussed in our 1-day training course. An ILMT test environment serves as an illustrative aid to learn how to use the tool or to deepen your knowledge of it. This training course does not deal with technical aspects (e.g. ILMT installation and updates, etc.). Legal aspects are also not covered in this training course.

After attending this course, you will be familiar with the basic functions of the ILMT and know which aspects to pay particular attention to.

You will be familiar with the most important menus and reports and know what to do in the event of pending classifications or dashboard messages.

Licence managers, software purchasers and IT specialists who (have to) deal with the topic of ILMT & SubCapacity.
This course requires a simple technical understanding and basic knowledge of IBM licensing law. We recommend our IBM basic training course DTL23.

If your training course takes place in the virtual classroom, you will receive digital training documents via the Mimeo platform (included in the course price), which can be used online and offline in the Mimeo environment (search/notes, etc.). If you would like printed training documents in addition to the digital documents, you can order these for € 74 net via the registration form.
